WELCOME!
I can’t believe that it’s been a little over a year since Village Weavers was launched! It’s even more incredible that almost exactly a year later, Village Weavers has won the 2025 OCM Bocas Prize for Caribbean Literature in fiction and overall!
Having traveled with VW across the US and Canada to the Caribbean and back again, I cannot express the gratitude I have for all the readers, librarians, book club groups, publicists, and the editorial team that made the success of VW possible.
I’m back to the writing desk, but, as you wait for new work to emerge, I have plenty of back list books you can explore from American Book Award winner, What Storm, What Thunder, to Gold Foreword Indies winner, Spirit of Haiti, to academic works on Haitian women's literature, Caribbean Literature, and my essays on post-earthquake Haiti collected in Harvesting Haiti: Essays on Unnatural Disasters, an Isis Duarte Prize winner. Also available is the French translation of WS, Voix, Eclairs, Tonnerres, a finalist for the Prix des Libraires in 2023.
Until soon, I’ll see you in the books!
Kenbe fem,
Myriam J. A. Chancy
